Thumbnails

Instagram Feed videos only allow you to choose the cover photo from the video file itself. Adding your custom thumbnail to the first few frames of the video file will allow it to be used as the cover photo easily. 

IGTV videos can have a custom photo uploaded as the cover photo. Make sure to keep all text and vital information center-aligned (vertically and horizontally) as Instagram crops this cover photo for the Instagram grid page. Recommended cover photo resolution is 420×654.

Thumbnails

Thumbnails for Facebook Videos should match the aspect ratio of the original content. The minimum size for video thumbnails is 470×246.

Captions can be added to a video by uploading an SRT file.

      Thumbnails

      TikTok does not allow for custom uploaded thumbnails (cover photos) but one can be created within the platform using a frame from the video and adding filters, animation and text. Adding a custom thumbnail to the actual video file is one workaround for this.

      Videos with a duration of 9 to 15 seconds perform best. 

      The platform relies heavily on sound and captions. Sounds used in videos can be searched similar to hashtags.
